NEFELI Publishing is based in Athens, Greece. Since its founding in 1979, it has published more than 1600 titles, introducing in Greece writers and works of seminal importance in subject areas such as: Contemporary and Classical Greek and Foreign Fiction and Poetry, Literary Theory and Criticism, Art, Music, Theatre, Philosophy, History, Linguistics, Sociology, Psychoanalysis and Children’s Literature.
      By maintaining long standing dedicated title series with an emphasis on subject depth and thoroughness, NEFELI has been a major contributor to the promotion of literature and academia in Greece and is reputed for its quality, both in terms of production values and in regard to the choice and editing of the texts.
      NEFELI has been closely following current debates about the changing role of publishing in the 21st century, by integrating a number of its functions with the online platform FAIREAD, as well as venturing in developments in Open Access Publishing. Our philosophy is one of nurturing the fundamental values of publishing, whilst making the necessary adaptations in order to face future challenges in an ethical and sustainable manner. Our focus on beautiful typography and good design makes our projects stand out and underlines their importance.

Our catalogue of translated literature includes many internationally acclaimed authors such as Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Fernando Pessoa, James Joyce, E.E.
